I have kept different forms of journals most of my life and found them useful to document/notice potential allergies/reactions to the seasons. For example, in my running journal I noticed that at certain times of the year I would consistently have sinus issues. I am now aware when I may get sick and have changed my workouts to lesser intensity, sometimes inside, and and can be proactive about treatment options. Food journals are powerful. We can all clearly see what we eat, but, comparing energy levels, headaches, joint pain, sinus issues etc. to foods is powerful documentation to make quality of life changes. This kind of journaling can take time, but it is documentation that can be shared with health care providers.
