Spring

Spring is a beautiful season. It is also a wonderful time to enjoy a simple and very restful form of meditation. This is how I do it. I find a comfortable chair to sit in and I just look at and appreciate nature. After a very short time my breathing has slowed down as has the speed of the thoughts going on in my mind. In short I slow down and relax. My worries are forgotten as I marvels at the details in the wings of a butterfly, the brilliant colors, flowers, the sound of birds and critters rustling. I find that the longer I sit in this relaxed way the more the animals ignore me and go about their business. I have observed some lovely things. The hummingbirds that come too close, the mother duck that knows me and shows me her ducklings,…I do enjoy taking pictures of nature, but not when I am doing this. This is my time to relax, just be and connect with everything that I really am a part of and that matters. Try it, alway doing what you need to do in order to be safe and healthy.

I should add that when I come inside I do use my neti pot or other nasal was and then add oil drops to my sinuses (nasya is the correct Ayurvedic term, check a previous post on Ponaris nasal oil). Also before going out I do wear a repellant. I find this form of meditation most therapeutic and very easy if you enjoy it.
