Finding My Way Back To Me

As some of you may know I taught Bilingual Special Education for over 20 years.  I am still always looking for devices that can be adapted to make life easier.  Recently I have been exploring Amazon Alexa and been happily surprised.  For example, if someone should have a shoulder injury, Alexa can be linked to a lamp and the lights go off and on per request.  If you are home alone and need an ambulance Alexa can call it, she can also call family members in another room of the house if you have enabled those features.  Depending on which version of Alexa device you are using you can watch your movies, have her read you your books and play your music by just asking.  There are a host of apps that can be custom tailor to your needs.  As someone involved in the wellness field I appreciate things like “Start My Morning, and Start My Evening”.  These prompt you through a series of meditations, visualizations, affirmations, goals,….  I add a timed meditation at the end.  I like these because everyone needs a little support and this provides it.  I am only skimming the surface of what this type of device can do.  Reminders, alerts, communications,…. and many others can be used as assistive device in daily living or if we ever find ourselves in a position where we are not as mobile or able as we would like.  I really do recommend these, but buy them on sale! Most companies are making their own version, play with one you like and enjoy.  As always, Keep yourself Sacred!
